The sea wall

When I join Mick in the mornings for his daily walk we sometimes get as far as the sea wall made by the Dutch many years ago but keeping the town from flooding. Unfortunately although it is lovely to walk along enjoying the sea breeze and meeting lots of people running, jogging and walking, it is not so nice looking down at the awful amount of garbage that is dumpd there and getting caught in the rocks.

Here is a huge rubber sheet in the foreground and if you look closely there is a hole cut into it where this man sleeps and lives. There were buckets of water and his belongings inside. he was sitting enjoying the morning breeze and reading his book.

As well there were a few egrets with bright yellow feet flying low over the waves....having fun I thought, fishing more likely.

This man said he was cleaning these huge trout and snapper on the back of his car.

and cricket just about everywhere, especially now in preparation for the World Cup of Cricket due to take place in the Caribbean and 9 of the games will be here. The town is on a great big cleaning spree. Let's hope it includes the sea wall.
