Moving..........

We have had to move because our first rental was only for 3 months due to a mix up by the Ministry and with the advent of the World Cup Cricket at the end of March landlords are looking to make a killing so they don't want poor VSO volunteers when they can get US$35.00 per night during the great sports event. It wasn't too bad though because apartfrom not knowing that where we would be moving until the night before we did so (and having to pack our few belongings) we did not have to do anything about it. It was the responsibility of the Ministry to find us accommodation but these are the two appliances that I will miss. They are not generally found in rental places so we were lucky for the first three months.

We are now just around the corner from where we were and although it is very noisy it is more in the 'hub of things' and already we feel more a part of the community than previously. It is also a bit bigger and more airy and spacious so we feel fortunate. Here is a picture of the outside - we are upstairs at the front and other VSOs are behind us at the back. This is Oswald our guard!!! 90 in the shade and deaf as a doorpost but a great gardener so we are surrounded by shrubs and plants and now have lots of herbs to add to our exotic menus.
