Idyllic travel..............

After sightseeing the War Memorial, the University and the Museum in Canberra and unsuccessfully trying to find downtown, the shops and the night life, we left Canberra for the Blue Mountains. We travelled up from Goulburn on the Taralgo Road . All the way the views were stunning as went up and down and around looking at the vales and hills of trees and grasslands. We felt that we were in the high country and much of the scenery reminded Mick of the Rhodesian bush. It was truly an idylic day of travel and picnicking.
The only sad part of the day was the amount of roadkill that we saw. Apparently there is more at present because the animals have been driven from their traditional habitat due to drought and the terrible fires of 2003 which caused forest devastation and the loss of 500 homes.
