The Inside Story

The inside is one of the loveliest parliament buildings you could find. As per the Australian way, they have taken from the old and married it with the new to make it their own. This entrance hall seen from above is to symbolise the eucalyptus forests which occur throughout the country. The columns are made of eucalytus green marble and are wonderfully calming. The building is user friendly and invites the public in. There are places to sit and things to look at throughout the building as well as a shop, Post Office and cafe for public use. There were many groups of people visiting and also many school children. We really enjoyed the tour.
