Just so you won't think that I do nothing but enjoy myself I am still working very hard trying to get a curriculum developed, funding in place and a million other tasks for the Bachelor of Rehabilitation Sciences with a specialty designation, either PT, OT or SLT, e.g BRS (OT) before I leave on APRIL 15th! I think it hit home last night at the curriculum committee meeting because there was a flurry of activity and everyone went away with something to do before the next meeting - not only me.
In fact I am on the homeward stretch and tearing up papers, tidying drawers and getting everything in order. I am happy and sad too. Although I have probably complained more than I should have and this culture has been difficult for me to understand and feel comfortable with, I have enjoyed the challenge overall, although I do not like feeling inadequate.
It will be very satisfying if they do manage to get the degree programme off the ground even though they will now have to do most of the work themselves. I think my role has really been to stimulate renewed interest in the whole idea and although my recommendations were to do it a bit differently, they are the people who live here and know how things work so I am, at this point, just doing whatever I can to facilitate their goals and objectives. This means getting the proposal as complete as possible for April 26th or so for presentation at the Faculty of Health Sciences Board and then in May to the Academic Policy and Planning Committee. There is a huge push on and I am sure now that setting my leave date has pushed everyone into action - often the way hey?

Mick is busy finalising our travel plans and we are hopeful that we will get to the Galapagos as well as Machu Picchu and I have just heard that MAYBE our daughter will join us I am so excited.

Should be back in Kelowna at the beginning of June!!!! and already we have two sets of visitors booked for that month. Plan to relax in July!!!
