Observations...................

Road safety wherever we have travelled appears to be of major importance here in Australia. There are frequent signs like this reminding you to stop and rest, there is another which indicates a gas station and offers the driver a free coffee - to keep him awake while he is driving....PLUS and this is a major factor in safety, is that the police are very strong on speeding. People do not speed here. They keep to the posted limit because the police WILL stop you and fine you on the spot and you lose points at the same time. They have cameras everywhere and a real bomber of a car which will overtake anything including Ferraris. So driving is a pleasure here. There are lots of U turn lanes too when you get on the wrong motorway. Just great. We have used them several times. 'Don't die for a deadline!' ...they say. "No belt....No brain" Pretty witty most of them. Crass many of the others!!
