High stakes.....

That little white dot you can see is our car taken from the top of the Diamond Karri Tree. Pretty scary climbing up to the top on the seemingly thin long nails (stakes) sticking out from the trunk. However, I did lots of self talk and looking ahead on the way up plus a couple of panic station stops to stabilise my breathing. The the view was definitely worth it. Not sure I would have wanted to sit there all day looking for fires though. This is/was the last fire tower in use and running up and down there a couple of times per day in the heat of the summer could not have been fun. .....but we've now done it. Check.
