Bunbury at last.............

39 years ago Rod Thompson, seen above, gave moral support to Mick as his best man on our wedding day! It was so good to see him again - now an eminent orthopaedic surgeon in Bunbury south of Perth - and his wife Judy (a nurse now midwife counsellor). We also met their second son Kip and spent a non-stop chattering evening catching up on our lives and kids and learning more about the Australian way of life. They live on an estuary and watch dolphins and whales from their lawn as well as glorious sunsets. Like everywhere in Australia right now it seems the town is bursting with new development and tourism is doing a roaring trade being at the entrance of the Margaret River drive to the wine making area. A glorious drive down the coast admiring the height of the trees and the boutique craft shops, art galleries and wineries showed how much they depend on tourism.
