Quick update from Alice Springs (Uluhru)

This is a photo of the carpeting in Alice Springs' Airport - made from an Aboriginal design.

This blog will go back and forth because not having my techie kids with me I do not know how to get photos up onto the blog from an internet cafe!!!. So I will post pictures and comments when I reach somewhere where I can not be racing against the clock as I am here - awaiting the bus to take us to the airport and back to Sydney.

We enjoyed Peth and Fremantle (or Freeo as they call it). Climbed the tallest and oldest fire tower - pretty scary, saw the Kerri Forests and met up with our best man of 39 years ago, now an orthopaedic surgeon in Bunbury.

Have just returned from three days in the outback sleeping under the stars and cooking over open fires listening to dingoes and the numerous birds with raucous, as well as pretty, voices.

Now back to Sydney for some sightseeing and then into a camper van for a trip up to the Snowy Mountains and some hiking.

Walking group I have done the 9.5 base walk around Uluhru and the ~5km walk in King Canyon as well as Kata Jhutra I think 4kms but can't quite remember.

Oops the bus approaches
