Auckland - City of Sails

This is a view of Auckland from the top of the volcano on Rangitoto Island where we spent a hectic morning scrambling up to the top and admiring the views, picnicking then walking down in the cool of the tall trres which in 600 years have proliferated to a major forest. We stopped to see the lava caves en route and that meant we had to rush to catch the ferry which only comes twice a day and I didn't fancy staying there overnight!
